How do I get a second flush from my grow kit after the first harvest?
Getting a Second Flush
Your first harvest doesn't have to be your last. Here's how to give your block the best chance of a second, smaller flush.

Short answer: soak your spent block in cool water for 2–4 hours, let it drain, then return it to the same humid, fresh-air conditions that produced your first flush. A second, usually smaller, flush often follows within one to two weeks.
Why soaking helps
Producing a flush uses up a large amount of the moisture stored in the substrate. Soaking rehydrates it, giving the mycelium enough water to attempt another round of fruiting — similar to how a dry spell followed by rain triggers wild mushrooms to fruit.
Setting expectations
A second flush is usually smaller and sometimes a little more irregular in shape than the first. That’s completely normal, not a sign anything went wrong — the block simply has less energy stored than it did at the start.
When to stop
If nothing appears within about two weeks of a soak, and especially if you start seeing green or black patches rather than white pins, the block has likely given what it has. At that point, composting it and starting a fresh kit is usually more productive than continuing to wait.
